GTA 6 News Hub: All Latest Updates, Leaks & Official Announcements

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — and between now and launch day, barely a week goes by without a new confirmed detail, a debunked rumor, or a fresh piece of marketing. About GTA tracks all of it in one place, updated as it happens, with confirmed facts kept clearly separate from community speculation so you always know what you’re reading.

Breaking: Latest GTA 6 News (Today)

The biggest story on the site right now: Rockstar has confirmed that boxed PS5 copies of GTA 6 use region-locked activation codes, meaning a code bought in one region only works with a PSN account registered in that same region. Xbox codes carry no such restriction and work globally.

Elsewhere, speculation is building around a possible third trailer landing around August 6, timed to Take-Two’s August 7 earnings call — but this is an insider guess, not a Rockstar-confirmed date, and About GTA will flag it the moment that changes. Preload for the game is confirmed to begin November 12, a full week ahead of the November 19 unlock.

GTA 6 Gameplay Reveals & Trailers

Rockstar has released two trailers to date. Trailer 1 dropped December 4, 2023, after leaking online roughly 16 hours ahead of its scheduled premiere and forcing Rockstar’s hand. Trailer 2 followed on May 6, 2025.

Importantly, neither trailer has shown actual gameplay systems — no HUD, no mission structure, no menus. Everything released publicly so far is in-engine cinematic footage rather than a hands-on or gameplay-walkthrough reveal, which is worth keeping in mind whenever a video claims to show “new GTA 6 gameplay.”

A third trailer is widely expected given the November launch window, with community speculation currently centered on early-to-mid August 2026. As of this writing, Rockstar has not confirmed a date, format, or content for Trailer 3 — About GTA will update this section the moment that changes.

LABELED AS RUMORS

GTA 6 Community Discoveries & Leaks

Everything in this section is unverified, community-sourced, or explicitly not confirmed by Rockstar. About GTA includes it because it’s part of the conversation — but it’s labeled here so it never gets mistaken for official information.

  • Separate online mode speculation: Datamined entries in the Xbox Store reportedly split GTA 6 into Story, Ultimate Edition Upgrade, Vintage Pack, and Extra listings, which some fans read as a sign online multiplayer may ship as a separate product. Rockstar has not confirmed this.
  • Cut GTA 5 content resurfacing: A former Rockstar producer has suggested ideas cut from GTA 5 could theoretically reappear in GTA 6, but only if rebuilt from the ground up — this is speculation from a former employee, not a studio announcement.
  • Claims worth actively debunking: There is no official GTA 6 Collector’s Edition — Rockstar sells only the Standard and Ultimate editions, and any other listing is unofficial or a scam. Similarly, a widely circulated claim that journalist Jason Schreier said GTA 6 is “90% complete” is a misquote — what he actually said was that he’s 90% confident in the announced release date.

If a rumor later gets confirmed by Rockstar, About GTA moves it up into the Official Announcements section above.
