Which Story and Asset Missions Are Required?

All story missions are required, and so are the asset mission lines. Wang Cars and Zero RC are easy to skip, but they count.

  • Courier missions: 3 (Roboi’s Food Mart, Hippy Shopper and Burger Shot)
  • Trucking missions: 8
  • Quarry missions: 7
  • Zero RC missions: 3
  • Wang Cars missions: 4
  • Valet Parking: all 5 levels

Counts come from PowerPyx and StrategyWiki. The Zero RC and Wang Cars counts come from PowerPyx only. Grand Theft Wiki lists the same asset types.

Which Side Missions Count?

Six side jobs count. Do each one to the level shown.

What Schools, Races, and Challenges Are Needed?

You need at least bronze in each school test at the Driving, Flight, Bike, and Boat schools. Gold is not needed.

  • Race tournaments: Win all 19 (9 in Los Santos, 6 in San Fierro, 4 at the Las Venturas freight depot). Also finish the 6 airplane checkpoint races.
  • Challenges: BMX, NRG-500, and the three Chiliad routes.
  • Stadium events: 8-Track, Kickstart, Blood Bowl, and Dirt Track.
  • Shooting range: Finish the Ammu-Nation challenges.

Collectibles: 100 Tags, 50 Snapshots, 50 Horseshoes, and 50 Oysters

All four sets must be finished. Each set gives a reward, according to PowerPyx.

You need a spray can for tags. It unlocks upstairs in the Johnson house after the mission “Tagging Up Turf”. You need a camera for snapshots. It is also in the Johnson house.

Things That Do Not Count Toward 100%

These are the items people most often think they need. They are not required.

  • 70 unique stunt jumps: Not required. Grand Theft Wiki, PowerPyx, and StrategyWiki agree.
  • Girlfriends: Not required.
  • Gang turfs and gang wars: Not required.
  • Burglary, Beefy Baron, lowrider challenges, pool, basketball, arcade games: Not required.
  • Buying all clothes, maxing stats, gold medals: Not required.

One guide, GTA Intel, says girlfriends and stunt jumps are needed. Three other guides say they are not, so we followed those.

What Rewards Do You Get at 100%?

Four rewards are listed by the guides we trusted.

  • $1,000,000
  • Infinite ammo
  • A Hydra jet on the roof of Sweet’s house
  • A Rhino tank near the bridge by Grove Street

Three guides also list stronger vehicles. GTABase says double endurance and StrategyWiki says 200% vehicle health, so treat the exact number as reported.

Can Cheats Ruin Your 100% Run?

In the Definitive Edition, cheats turn off trophies. PowerPyx says every requirement must be done without cheats.

GTA Intel says cheats cancel the completion mark. We found no second source for that, so we label it unconfirmed. Keep a clean save and cheat on a copy.

What Is the Best Order to Do Everything?

This is our opinion, not an official route.

  1. Play the story. Pick up tags, snapshots and horseshoes as each city opens.
  2. Do the schools and the asset missions after you unlock the properties.
  3. Do the side jobs that need long runs, like Taxi and Vigilante.
  4. Clean up with a checklist: races, stadium events, Import/Export cars and oysters.
  5. Check the stats screen for anything under 100%.

What If You Get Stuck at 99%?

Players report getting stuck near 99.47%. These are user reports, not tested fixes.

  • A Chiliad race you did not finish.
  • One property you did not buy.
  • A Blood Bowl event that did not count.

In the Definitive Edition, PowerPyx suggests Performance mode because some cutscenes crash in Fidelity mode.
